Michigan online casinos had another huge month in September, as state internet gaming operators reported $102.4 million in online casino revenue, according to numbers released Thursday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board .
The sector continued its amazing and consistent run since launching Jan. 22. From March through August, each month had produced between $89.2 million and $97.2 million in revenue. The September revenue pushed Michigan into a group with New Jersey and Pennsylvania , the sector’s leaders, as the only states to produce more than $100 million of revenue in a single month.
September’s total was a 5.3% increase from August, when the state’s 14 internet gaming operators earned a then-record $97.2 million in revenue. The numbers include both Michigan online poker operators.
Casino and poker operators combined to pay $18.9 million in state taxes, another $5.2 million to the city of Detroit, along with $2.1 million to state tribal governments. Since its launch, Michigan internet gaming has raised $139.0 million in state tax revenue, $38.5 million for Detroit and $15.2 million for tribal operators.
