Pennsylvania casinos generated more than $408 million in August, a significant increase compared to the same month last year, state regulators said.
Casinos generated 31% more money last month compared to August 2020, when the facilities saw $310.7 million in revenues, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. However, dollars generated last month were $15.56 million less than those generated in July, when casinos saw $423.6 million in revenues, the highest monthly revenue total to date.
Of the state’s 16 licensed casinos, Parx Casino in Bucks County saw the highest revenue total in August, bringing in about $59.1 million.
Locally, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh saw revenues total $31.38 million, data show. Of that, slot machines brought in $22.4 million, with $7.9 million generated from table games and more than $1 million from retail and online sports wagering. The facility also saw $17.59 million wagered through sports betting last month.
At The Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington, revenues totaled $23.8 million in August. The facility brought in $13.89 million from slot machines, $3.1 million from table games and $6.8 million from retail and online sports wagering. That is the highest amount generated through sports wagering compared to casinos across the state.
In addition, the Meadows saw $81.3 million in sports bets placed in August, data show.
Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin in Fayette County generated $2.37 million, $2.1 million of which came from slot machines and $212,890 from table games.
Live! Casino Pittsburgh, which opened in Hempfield’s Westmoreland Mall in November, saw revenues of $9.5 million last month. Of that, $8 million came from slot machines, $1.28 million from table games and $153,944 from retail sports wagering. In all, the facility saw $830,643 wagered through sports bets, according to the gaming control board.
In casinos across the state, retail slot machine revenues totaled $209.8 million, and retail table games generated $86.3 million.
