GGPoker buys the World Series of Poker

A $500 million deal for the global online operator to purchase the biggest brand in live poker. In one of the biggest acquisitions this industry has ever seen, Caesars has agreed to sell the World Series of Poker brand to NSUS Group, the owners of GGPoker.

It is a $500 million deal where the first $250 million is paid up front and the remaining $250 million five years later.

Caesars will continue to host the World Series of Poker from its properties for the next 20 years . Caesars will also host WSOP-C events across the globe.

The WSOP.com online brand will continue to operate in the United States for the “foreseeable future”. Worldwide expansion

What will a global WSOP look like? This news comes as little surprise to people inside the poker industry. GGPoker has made no secret of its intentions to enter the US market and has been an official partner of the World Series of Poker since the pandemic. They have been a primary driver in providing WSOP satellites and even hosted bracelet events online.

They have stated their intention to expand the WSOP brand globally . It will be very interesting to see what that means and what the future of bracelet events look like in the next few years.
