Half-Price Sunday Is Back For PokerStars Michigan Online Poker Players

Hoping to build off the recent success of the Michigan Championship of Online Poker (MICOOP), PokerStars MI is giving players a buy-in break this Sunday.

That’s right, all major tournaments on the site are half-off .

Michigan online poker players are in for a potentially lucrative weekend over at PokerStars MI.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 11 tournaments were scheduled at PokerStars with “Half Price” designations.

The top prize pool was $40,000 for the Half Price Sunday Special at 6 p.m. There is a $50 buy-in, with up to three re-entries available. Later, a 10 p.m. Half Price Sunday Supersonic will have $5,000 in prizes for a $25 buy-in.

Half-off incentives are also being offered in New Jersey and Pennsylvania .

In Michigan, there is more than $60,000 in prize guarantees up for grabs on Sunday.

In Pennsylvania, there’s more than $80,000 to be won. More than $40,000 will be won in Jersey. MICOOP exceeded guarantees last month, giving away nearly $1.79 million Last month was one of the biggest ones ever for the Michigan online poker market, which launched Jan. 29 of this year.Much of that has to be credited to the success of the second MICOOP, which well-exceeded the planned $1.5 million in guarantees.When all was said and done, the 18-day, 68-event series cashed nearly $1.79 million for MI players. In all, there were 18,836 entries .Though impressive numbers to be sure, the event came up shy of the more than $2.2 million awarded at the first MICOOP series, which was held shortly after launch back in February and March.Pennsylvania led the three-state PokerStars market for the time frame as well. The Keystone State’s PACOOP series awarded nearly $2.38 million in prizes, attracting more than 25,500 entries .In the NJCOOP, more than 10,500 entries resulted in more than $1.1 million in prizes over 60 events.
