Proudfoot Closes Gap on Leonard in the UK Online Rankings

The travel restrictions for British players wanting to head to Sin City means most of the players in the current top 20 of the United Kingdom Online Poker Rankings, provided by PocketFives , are still on home soil.

Jonathan “proudflop” Proudfoot is one British star still in the UK, and still grinding online poker tournaments. Proudfoot took down the $1,050 Bounty Builder Series edition of the PokerStars Thursday Thrill for more than $35,000. The leaderboard points Proudfoot earned for that impressive victory have closed the gap on Patrick “pleno1” Leonard at the top of the UK charts.

Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks won a Bounty Builder Series event of his own, a $109 buy-in edition, which came with a $15,711 prize. Brooks cemented his fourth-place in the current standings, and is now less than 200 points behind the legendary Chris “moorman1” Moorman in third.

Former world number one Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford padded his bankroll with more than $30,000 courtesy of being the last man standing in the $530 Bounty Builder at PokerStars, while Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson enjoyed several four-figures scores, plus a $12,737 cash for a fifth-place finish in the GGPoker $1,050 High Rollers Main Event . Kulev Closes in on Lillis

The race to be Ireland’s number one is back on with Alex “FutureofMe” Kulev closing the gap significantly on long-time leader Frank “Denman98” Lillis . The gap is now only 243 points having been upwards of 1,500 at one stage. Kulev helped himself to a few four-figure scores over the past couple of week, including one worth $6,580 at GGPoker, and one worth more than $7,000 at PokerStars. Lillis held onto his lead partly because of a runner-up finish in the GGPoker $200 Daily 6-Max Special worth $5,624 plus a ninth-place finish in the $1,050 GGMasters High Roller for $15,394.
