All the Gambling Options Now Available for Connecticut Gamblers

Bettors in Connecticut now have some wagering options at their fingertips after a new era of legal online gambling began on Tuesday.

Gov. Ned Lamont signed HB6451 into law in May, legalizing retail sports betting and all forms of online wagering in Connecticut. The first retail sportsbooks opened for business on Sept. 30, and their online counterparts have now gone live following a soft launch period.

We have rounded up the key betting options that are now available in Connecticut: FanDuel Sports Single Game Sports Betting

Now that sports betting in Connecticut is legal, you can place a bet on thousands of sporting events per week at FanDuel, DraftKings and SugarHouse. The three most common sports betting options are spreads, totals and moneylines.

A moneyline bet simply requires you to predict which team will win a game. Spread betting allows you to predict which team will cover the point spread after the supposedly stronger team is given a handicap. For example, in Week 6 of the NFL season, you could bet on the New York Giants +10.5 or the LA Rams -10.5, with odds of -110 on either team.

Totals betting simply requires you to predict whether the cumulative points, goals or runs scored by both teams will go over a certain line, or stay under it. You can also choose from hundreds of additional single game sports bets, including game props, player props, alternative spreads and totals, halves, quarters, and periods. Parlays and Other Multiples

A parlay bet allows you to combine multiple selections into a single wager. The more legs you add, the larger your potential profit. For example, you could bet on the Jets, the Giants, the Nets and the Knicks to cover the spread on the same weekend. Each team would need to cover for the bet to pay off.

You can place round robins and teasers too. Sportsbooks like FanDuel also offer same game parlays, which allow you to combine multiple selections in the same game, such as the Giants to win, over 47.5 points and Devontae Booker to score a TD.
