Caesars sells WSOP to GGPoker in deal valued at $500M

Image: Caesars Entertainment Just weeks after wrapping up the biggest edition of the live World Series of Poker (WSOP) ever, Caesars Entertainment is selling the brand to NSUS Inc , the parent company online poker operator GGPoker . According to the release, the deal is worth $500 million, with $250 million being paid in cash up front and another $250 million due in five years. GGPoker has worked with WSOP as partner for several years

GGPoker has worked closely as a partner with the WSOP over the last few years, sending a number of online satellite qualifiers to both the Las Vegas and the WSOP Paradise events. During COVID, the site also hosted an international online WSOP tournament series, awarding 54 bracelets.

Though Caesars is offloading the brand, it is not offloading the events. As part of the agreement, the summer series will continue to call Caesars properties in Las Vegas home. Regional Caesars properties will continue to offer World Series of Poker Circuit events as well.
