Five years since the first regulated online poker room went live in Portugal, and six months after the state regulator published an amendment that approved the game, Lottery Sit and Gos (LSNGs) have finally gone live in the country.
As first reported by Portuguese consumer site PokerPT, this week PokerStars launched Spin and Gos in the market.
For players on PokerStars.PT, this means they can join LSNGs games that share liquidity with France and Spain. Existing Spins players on this Southern European network should see boosted player numbers thanks to the additional Portuguese liquidity in the mix.
The only other operator live in the country is 888poker, and it has yet to launch its own LSNG variant, BLAST. Its launch could come soon.
