Although sports betting lagged somewhat again, the Michigan internet gaming sector stayed strong in August. Revenue ticked up 5.3% to $97.2 million for online casinos and online poker , a record monthly haul in Michigan. Internet gaming raised $17.9 million in state taxes, $4.9 million in taxes for Detroit and just shy of $2.0 million in payments to tribal governments.

August was the first full month for live dealer casino games in Michigan, which helped boost the revenue totals released Thursday by the Michigan Gaming Control Board .
