Pennsylvania Online Poker Falls Further Behind New Jersey

In the four full years where both states had markets open, the Garden State led its bigger rival in terms of annual revenue only once — in 2020. But it could happen again in 2024.

Published Sep 20, 2024 New Jersey’s online poker rooms are on pace to generate more annual revenue than their counterparts in neighboring Pennsylvania for just the second time in six years.

Revenue data from regulators in both states show Pennsylvania’s segregated market continues to decline compared to New Jersey, which has multi-state poker and shared liquidity.

Data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) show online poker rooms in the Garden State grossed nearly $2.4 million in August. Meanwhile, online poker rooms in Pennsylvania made more than $2.2 million, according to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB).
