Salter Slays the GUKPT Grand Final High Roller Field

Jack Salter Jack Salter added the GUKPT Grand Final High Roller title to his long list of poker accomplishments after outlasting 132 opponents in the £2,500 buy-in tournament. Salter collected £97,100 for his victory, which takes his lifetime winnings soaring past the $8.5 million mark.

Salter last cashed in a live poker tournament in March 2020. Recent GUKPT London champion Jiaze Li busted in 14th, with Sebastian Jung , Haresh Thaker , Zhenglong Zhou , and Tom Hall busting before the nine-handed final table.

Daniel Moran , fresh from a $128,374 score in Vegas earlier this year, was the first of the nine finalists to fall. Moran’s ninth-place finish came with an £8,140 payout.

George Demetriou ’s tournament ended abruptly in eighth, a finish worth £9,130. Demetriou was the last of the High Roller players not to pad their bankroll with a five-figure score.

Yucel “Mad Turk” Eminoglu would have made a popular champion had he not ran out of steam in seventh for £10,750. Eminoglu had been missing in action since cashing in Cyprus in November 2019. However, he finished eighth in a £400 Grosvenor 30/30 Series event in Birmingham in September 2021, and enjoyed another finale here in London. It is safe to say Eminoglu is back.
