Malta-based Dutchman Steven van Zadelhoff is one such player who has not flown out to Las Vegas, Nevada. van Zadelhoff’s decision to remain in Europe paid off on October 10 when he finished first from a field of 492 in the $1,050 Sunday High Rollers Main Event at GGPoker .

The former PokerStars WCOOP Main Event champion was part of a three-handed deal at the business end of the tournament. Estonia’s Ranno “RukKuRuku” Sootla finished third and banked $80,519, almost $15,000 more than the $66,263 Igor Ursel collected for his second-place finish. Artur Martirosian Artur Martirosian continued his impressive form by helping himself to the $140,355 top prize in the $1,050 GGMaster High Rollers tournament on October 10.

Some 857 players bought into the event, leaving a $143,000 overlay on the $1 million guarantee. Martirosian took full advantage of the added prize money, bulldozing his way to victory over a star-studded final table.

Frank “PieOMy” Lillis was the first of nine finalists to bow out. Lillis’ ninth-place finish came with a $15,393 prize.

“Make me smile” and Mikhail “zyxel777” Aleksandrov were next to fall before “MoinsNotHot” departed in sixth place.
