Each of those licensees is permitted to host one online operator on its master license. The Mohegan signed a deal with FanDuel DFS , the Mashantucket Pequot agreed to work with DraftKings DFS and the Lottery chose SugarHouse Betting .

Aside from DFS, each online operator is also allowed to offer sports betting, online casino gaming and online poker. No other companies can operate in the state. It means that FanDuel and DraftKings can continue to run DFS contests, but Underdog Fantasy and PrizePicks had to exit the market. What Will Change for Connecticut DFS Players?

Some sports fans may be disappointed to see the Connecticut DFS market grow less competitive. However, it is worth remembering that DraftKings and FanDuel already accounted for the bulk of the DFS action in the state, and their competitors were relatively minor players.

The two companies will continue to engage in healthy competition with one another, ensuring that players enjoy a strong user experience. SugarHouse could even launch its own DFS platform to make the market a little more crowded.
