With all the focus on the WSOP live series in Las Vegas, rival World Poker Tour (WPT) is filling the void in the Asian market with a WPT-branded online festival.
Called WPT Asia Online, the festival is being held on the popular Asian poker app, Poker King. This is the second time that the pair has teamed up to host an online festival targeted at the Asian market.
The festival got underway last Friday and runs for another week. As seen last time, all the buy-ins and prize pools are denominated in Chinese Yuan. The overall series guarantee is CNY 15 million, which equates to approximately USD $2.3 million.
This is spread over 15 events with buy-ins ranging from CNY 220 ($35) to 10,500 ($1650).
