The 2022 World Series of Poker schedule has finally been officially announced. On Wednesday, Feb. 23, the WSOP revealed that the 53rd annual running of poker’s marquee tournament series will see a total of 88 gold bracelets awarded from May 31 through July 20 on the Las Vegas strip.
Included in the official press release for the schedule reveal was a crucial COVID-19 policy change from 2021. Unlike last year, the 2022 WSOP will not require players to be vaccinated to participate. The release says the following on the matter:
“The WSOP will follow local, state and CDC guidelines relating to COVID-19 that are in effect during the event. While there will be no vaccination requirement to play in the tournament, players will be accountable to follow CDC guidelines appropriate to them as individuals. Based on current state guidelines masks will not be required.”
The events will be split between Bally’s, which will soon be renamed the Horseshoe, and Paris Las Vegas, with actor and comedian Vince Vaughn serving as the first-ever WSOP Master of Ceremonies. The new venue will feature 200,000 square feet of convention space and 600 poker tables. The schedule is jam-packed with first-class events and we expect this to be the biggest and most anticipated WSOP yet.”
The centerpiece of the poker calendar, the WSOP $10,000 no-limit hold’em main event, will run from July 3-16, with the final table spread over the course of two days.
