Andras Nemeth As the 2021 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) closes out, Andras “probirs” Nemeth of Hungary won his third title by taking down the WCOOP-92-H: $10,300 PLO [6-Max, PLO Main Event] for a massive $308,556 score. Nemeth entered the final table on Day 3 as chip leader and was able to get it done by defeating Denmark’s “AlexKP” during heads-up play. For his second-place finish, “AlexKP” saw a cash of $237,169 . Nemeth earned both his previous titles in 2020 by taking down the $530+R NLHE 8-Max and the $5,200 PLO 6-Max . “AlexKP” was also after a third WCOOP title, having won the $215 No Limit Hold’em in 2010 and the $1,050+R PLO in 2013. The tournament had a million-dollar guarantee and smashed that with a $1.5 million prize pool off of 147 entrants . Only 35 players made it through Day 1, though they were joined by a few dozen more who late-regged before the start of Day 2. Seven players survived the second day to make it to the final table on Day 3, including “Ben_Apart” of the United Kingdom, Ami “UhhMee” Barer of Canada and Ola “Odd_Oddsen” Amundsgard of Norway. Ka Kwan “kaju85” Lau was eliminated on the bubble in eighth place for $50,682 when his naked aces ran into the full house of Nemeth, marking the beginning of what would prove to be a strong showing by the eventual champion.
