Published Nov 13, 2023 Offshore online poker network the Chico Poker Network (CPN) has become the latest to join the Mystery Bounty craze. As first reported on World Poker Deals, the Mystery Bounty tournaments went live on CPN on October 28.

The offshore network joined the growing ranks of online poker networks embracing this trend. By PRO’s count, ten networks have now launched the format, with three in October alone: iPoker introduced mystery bounties as part of their Bounty Hunters series ; 4Poker, an online poker startup based in the Isle of Man, also introduced them the same month.

Commonly, sites have launched mystery bounties as multi-table tournaments. Once in the money, players compete to eliminate opponents and earn randomized, concealed bounties with each knockout. The prize pool is funded through tournament buy-ins, and all the buy-ins generated are distributed as bounties and regular prize pool winnings.

CPN has taken a different tack — it has offered them as six-handed, single-table sit and gos, and the bounties work under a progressive jackpot system. Much like progressive slots, the jackpot accumulates with each game played and continues to grow until someone hits a substantial jackpot.
