888 Holdings has held exclusive rights to provide online poker, casino gaming, and sports betting since 2013. If the Delaware Lottery looks elsewhere, it would open the door to another operator. An official with the Delaware Lottery said it is currently in discussions with 888 Holdings over its exclusive contract to provide online poker, casino gaming, and sports betting through three racinos in the state.
The official declined to say when the contract with 888 officially ends, or if the Lottery had sent out a request for proposal (RFP) announcing the contract was up for bids.
Representatives for 888 also did not return messages seeking comment or to confirm that discussions with the Lottery were taking place.
The Lottery announced in July 2020 that it would extend its partnership with 888 for another two years, until 2022. But, since the two-year extension was announced in July, there is speculation as to when the current partnership officially ends.
