First Look at ACR Poker’s Biggest Software Upgrade in Two Decades

“We started from the ground up and built a poker client based on feedback from thousands of players.” US-facing offshore online poker room Americas Cardroom ( ACR ), which runs on the Winning Poker Network ( WPN ), is preparing to launch an entirely revamped desktop client, PRO can reveal.

The new software — currently in private testing and scheduled to go live next week — is a complete redesign aimed at modernizing the client and bringing it in line with its competitors.

“We started from the ground up and built a poker client based on feedback from thousands of players,” said Owen Gaines, Head of Product at WPN, in an exclusive with PRO. “The result is the best poker experience in the industry with a new, sleek look and feel.”

While Americas Cardroom (ACR) has undergone several software upgrades in the past, the latest update is being hailed as the most significant in the room’s twenty-year history.

The refreshed software is expected to go live on Wednesday, July 5. Along with ACR, other skins within the WPN will also receive updates to their client.

The overhaul to the software comes as part of the operator’s significant rebranding effort. The software revamp has been accompanied by a fresh logo, website, new ACR merchandise store, and a new name — switching to ACR Poker from Americas Cardroom. The operator told PRO that this rebranding initiative had been taken to reflect the growing international player traffic.
