New Jersey online casino revenue perfectly tells the Big Three story. Its iGaming revenue puts it in the top three states. Plus, three of its legal online gambling operators hold the plurality of the US online casino market share.
That story retold itself on Thursday when the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) released October’s gross gaming revenue (GGR).
New Jersey online casino gamblers brought in $145 million in GGR. Online poker players raised the iGaming revenue total to $147 million .
However, that wasn’t enough to beat Pennsylvania’s $152 million. That may change this month, though. Because the Garden State vies with Michigan and Pennsylvania each month for the title of No. 1 in GGR.
Continuing with that theme, New Jersey also contains the Big Three online casino operators:
Just as they do across the nation, the operators or their affiliated brands hold the top market shares. Sites on Borgata’s License Are 30% of New Jersey iGaming Market
MGM Resorts International owns half of the online gambling operator BetMGM and all of the retail casino Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. (Entain owns the other half of BetMGM.)
BetMGM holds the plurality of US online casino market share, at 31% during Q3 2022 , Entain CEO Jette Nygaard-Andersen said during the earnings call on Oct. 13.
So Borgata being No. 1 in New Jersey makes sense.Also, part of the reason Borgata’s sites hold 30% of the New Jersey iGaming market share is that there are 10 of them – six are casinos and four are poker sites.BetMGM Casino and BetMGM Poker are on the Borgata casino’s license , as well as other MGM brands.
