Online Poker Revenue Up In December, But Down From 2020 in DE, MI, NJ, PA

2021 was the year in which Michigan’s online poker market went live and Pennsylvania’s poker market got competitive. Revenue from online poker in Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania was up month-over-month in each state, by varying degrees, but was down by double digits year-over-year, according to data from regulators from each state.

While each state continued to rake in millions from poker, in every case where applicable, operators and markets that were active in 2020 saw some of their best revenue during the opening months of the pandemic.

In New Jersey, online poker generated $2.3 million in December , up 6.4% month-over-month ($2.2 million) but down 22.6% year-over-year ($3 million), according to data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement . For the full year, the vertical generated $29.9 million in 2021, down 22.9% from 2020 ($38.8 million).
