PokerStars USA said online players have so far won more than $2.9 million in its Championship of Online Poker (COOP) series, which just crossed the halfway point in the three states it operates in: Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The series began on September 10 and is scheduled to conclude on September 27 . PokerStars MI is running the MICOOP , aka the Michigan Championship of Online Poker series, while PokerStars NJ and PokerStars PA runs the similarly named NJCOOP and PACOOP series, respectively.
All three COOP series are heading toward their conclusion, with two-day Main Events starting this Sunday, September 26 .
While the buy-in costs $300 for each series , the guaranteed prizes pools are different between the three states . The guarantee is $200,000 in the PACOOP, $150,000 in the MICOOP and $100,000 in the NJCOOP. Each series is ring-fenced, with players only playing others from their home state.
Despite the difference in guarantees, each series is offering a Depositor Freeroll on September 26 . Players who make a deposit at least $30 using the appropriate promo code — PACOOP , MICOOP or NJCOOP — will receive an entry into the freeroll. The top 50 finishers in each state series will win seats to the Main Event , which equates to each series offering $15,000 in tickets to the marquee event.
Each series is also offering $3 Spin & Go’s , which will also offer Main Event tickets. PokerStars said its Second Chance Freeroll promotion is also still running, giving players who bust before winning cash in any COOP event the opportunity to win tickets to the tournament.
