Roshambo: GGPoker Launches Unique Heads-Up Satellite Format

Online poker giant GGPoker has launched a new game called Roshambo , providing a unique — and rake-free — way to satellite into tournaments.

Themed around the simple children’s hand game rock, paper, scissors , Roshambo is a heads-up Sit & Go satellite in which player gets to choose one set of hole cards from three choices.

The hole cards provided to players are fixed every game, and the same choice is presented to both players: A pair of deuces, T9 suited, and ace-five off-suit. Once the players have chosen their hole cards, community cards are dealt, and the winner of the hand wins a seat to the target tournament.

If both players pick the same hole cards, the game is drawn and restarts with a fresh choice for both players. Players’ hole cards are randomly chosen after three consecutive draws.

Much like rock, paper, scissors , each pair of hole cards is weak versus one alternative and strong against the other. T9 suited has the edge over a pair of deuces; deuces win over ace-five off-suit, and ace-five off-suit wins against T9 suited.
