Rush Street Interactive Confirms BetRivers Will “Eventually” Launch Online Poker

Acquisition of Poker Night in America series, coupled with Run It Once Poker (RIO), provides “strong cross-sell opportunities” in online casino and sports, says CEO Richard Schwartz. Online poker is coming to BetRivers — eventually. That’s according to Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive (RSI), who made it plain during an earnings call last week that the company plans to launch an online poker product developed by former employees of Run It Once Poker (RIO).

Rumors that RSI could roll out poker have persisted since the company acquired and onboarded the RIO development team in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $5.8 million in early March. The acquisition of a popular poker broadcast appears to be moving things along.

During the August 4 call, Schwartz said that RSI had recently completed its acquisition of Poker Night in America , a show that features cash games and sit & go action. It airs nationally on the CBS Sports Network. He said the acquisition was paid for with approximately $2.2 million in cash and $2.7 million of RSI stock.

Poker Night was developed and produced by Rush Street Productions, a subsidiary of Rush Street Gaming, sister company to RSI. The show is considered the subsidiary’s flagship series.
