Slovakian Poker Pro Wins 2021 WPT World Online Championships Main Event The WPT World Online Championships Main Event turned out to be a truly global event with poker players from all over the world taking part. A total of 1,179 players took part in the $5,300 Main Event which created a total prize pool of $5,895,000. The final table saw a mix of poker players from Brazil, Slovakia, Austria, UK and Canada battle it out. There were three players from Brazil and two from Austria at the final table but in the end it was Slovakian player Rok Gostisa who came from behind to win the Main Event and take home $959,493 for his first place finish. Austrian Vlad Darie took out Brazil’s Joao Simao who finished in 9th place for $76,713 and Canadian David Peters then made a strong run by taking out another Brazilian as Rodrigo Sirichuk exited in 8th place for $97,472. Peters had over a 100 million in chips but Darie pushed forward taking down Manuel Fritz in 7th place for $123,182 and Brit Talal Shakerchi in 6th place for $156,421. Peters then went on to eliminate Austrian Philipp Hofbauer in 5th place for $202,734 and later the final Brazilian at the table as Bruno Volkmann exited in 4th place with $296,185.
