S Regupathy, the law minister for Tamil Nadu, introduced a proposal to ban online gambling games in the house on Wednesday. A bill has been proposed to outlaw online poker, rummy, and other gambling websites. Games that promote gambling online have been asked to be banned by the law minister. The state administration declared its commitment to outlawing online gambling in March of this year. Additionally, they stated that every attempt was being made to use the current legislation to accomplish the goal. This development came about as a result of the Madras High Court’s ruling in August 2021 to invalidate the AIADMK-enacted Tamil Nadu Gaming and Police Laws (Amendment) Act.
